Hello. My name is Steve and I am

a solo puppeteer and entertainer.

With my booth and

Talking Heads Puppets,

I have been entertaining kids

throughout the Glasgow area and

beyond for the past 8 years.

 

With new technology and gizmos at hand, you may well ask - “Where does puppetry fit in to modern day entertainment?”

 

Well, although the archaic view of puppetry as limited to a “Punch and Judy” booth makes me smile with amazement, my inspiration with Talking Heads Puppets follows in that tradition and I like to compare it to another other British institution - “Panto”

 

I am proud to be part of a long tradition that continues to develop and addresses up-to-the minute issues in an entertaining way.

It is theatre that allows the audience to suspend belief and ignites the imagination.

As you can see I perform with glove puppets and there is a good range of characters that children easily relate to, especially when the performances extend beyond the booth.

 

Over the years I’ve mostly concentrated on the 3 to 8 age group but older groups will also benefit from the new projects coming up in the near future.

Mini Disco

Puppet Workshops

 

Also, coming soon, in collaboration with Puppet Stew,

we hope to perform a new puppet show called

The Signalman.

This was written by Charles Dickens and is an eerie ghost story that will be suitable for the older kids.

 

As well as having studied puppetry at the

Scottish Mask & Puppet Centre

I have an HND in Acting/theatre studies.

I am a member of Equity, the actors union, with full public liability insurance and have a full

Scotland Disclosure Certificate.
